🌐 What is this site for? 🌐

This page is my homepage. It isn’t my primary website, and it isn’t somewhere that I frequently update. This site provides links to my blog, my social accounts, and other links that I think are good and worth sharing.

❓ What is brpe? ❓

My username is just the first two letters of my first and last name put together in order. It’s served me pretty well for getting a four-letter username on Internet platforms. Sometimes, you’ve got to try your luck and see what you can get these days.

🤩 Why does this site look like a fine expression of timeless Web 1.0 design principles? 🤩

I usually use Hugo to build static sites, and I found the theme Vintage Web by madebydia on GitHub. It’s pretty excellent, and I couldn’t resist putting my content in this format. Besides, I’m on Neocities, so it fits well.

𓂃✍︎ What are my interests? 𓂃✍︎

I really enjoy blogging. My current blog is hosted by paper.wf, and you can find it at paper.wf/brpe. Before that, I had another blog, which is still up and you can find it hosted by Codeberg Pages these days at brpe.codeberg.page. Besides that, I enjoy

• Cities (I like exploring cities, traveling with friends, and appreciating urban amenities like parks, cafes, and libraries. I'm writing this from a seat at the Kaohsiung Public Library)

• Music (As most people do, I consider myself a music fan. I have a clarinet, which I'm not excellent at, but good enough to be happy. I like listening to jazzy music, quiet music, slower music, I like playing in small orchestras and attempting solo clarinet pieces)

• Language (I've been studying Mandarin Chinese for, you know, who even knows how long... As I mentioned above, I wrote this in Kaohsiung, which would indicate that I ended up in Taiwan at one point or another. I did a couple of stints as a lab intern in Taichung. I enjoy feeling unbound by the restrictions of language and cultural barriers. Which, admittedly, is not something I can really say about myself)

• Photography (I don't do it as a very intentional hobby, but I think I know a good scene when I see one, and I like to capture them. I've got a photo library that I'm proud of. The link to it is in the navbar)

📖 What kind of content can I find here? 📖

Since this isn’t a blog (the blog link provided above is where I do all of my writing), this site just has content that I want at the front and center of my Web presence. I’ve also given a list of links for Internet places that I think are useful.
